About Me

I'm unemployed.  I cook.  What more do you need to know?

Jay kay.

I worked for 3.5 years as an environmental consultant at a small firm here in Chicago.  I was initially thrilled to have a job, but the luster wore off about six months in.  I kept working there, hoping things would get better, but eventually I sucked it up, took a leap, and enrolled in a Masters of Education program at DePaul University. Ideally, I'll end up with a job at a middle school teaching science, but my actual certification will be in World Language Education (German) for K-12.

I quit my full-time job in March, 2011 to take my final two classes of my master's degree, and this is probably the happiest I've ever been in the past two years.  I fill my time with a ridiculous amount of baking, a fair amount of cooking, and a small amount of classwork.  Oh well, at least my priorities in order.

If any of my friends or family have a cookie, cake, bread or vegetarian dish that you'd like me to trouble-shoot, just let me know!  I always need inspiration, and I'll even invite you over to eat!
